I've been an animal caregiver my whole life. My household as a child, and then as a parent myself, was always completed by family pets. Our definition of family always included our animals. This truth has been formative.
My previous career, also formative to who I am as a human being, was as a teaching artist, using drama strategies to teach curricular subjects. My students have been children of all ages. I've been very fortunate. Now I bring my focus to my original passion: caring for animals, advocating for rescue organizations, providing education for young caregivers, and supporting those creatures who don't have a voice, but who require compassionate care and loving relationships. This is the Pup Kit Pet Care mission.
The business began as a simple pet sitting operation. Now I've expanded my view based on experience with my customer's pets, additional education in animal care and focused time with seasoned organizations that taught me volumes about good and right practice. My desire is to visit pets with a full, compassionate heart, ready to care for the well-being of each unique animal.
I am trained in hands on healing, canine massage and animal reiki (a meditation- based care for any creature who needs extra love and healing behavioral support). Pet sitting is not just a quick set of tasks, although I am very thorough with these things. It's the process of nourishing a relationship with a sentient being who feels the love from a friend in the absence of her family.
